Ear cytology
Get left and right ear results all in one run and in one report that:
- Quantify yeast and bacteria (rods and cocci).
- Assess for the presence of white blood cells and mites.
- Display a composite image gallery, supporting the AI-assisted pathology findings (for reference purposes only).
- Provide board-certified dermatologist expertise via diagnostic considerations that help you make real-time clinical decisions.

Blood morphology
Get blood morphology results that:
- Quantify changes in RBC blood morphology, immature neutrophils, and platelets (even in the presence of clumping).
- Display a composite image gallery, supporting the AI-assisted pathology findings (for reference purposes only).
- Provide board-certified pathologist expertise via diagnostic considerations that help you make real-time clinical decisions.
- Supplement a ProCyte One or ProCyte Dx haematology analyser CBC with a consolidated report that automatically integrates red blood cell, hematocrit, and white blood cell values and provides blood morphological assessment of critical parameters.

Frequently asked questions
The IDEXX inVue Dx analyser is validated for use with canine and feline samples.
- For blood morphology: 20 µL of EDTA-treated whole blood is required (use within 4 hours of collection).
- For ear cytology: Fresh ear swab samples are required.
It takes approximately 10 minutes to get results from a run on the IDEXX inVue Dx analyser.
Supplementing CBC results from the ProCyte One or ProCyte Dx haematology analyser with blood morphology results from the IDEXX inVue Dx analyser can add value as morphologic changes in blood cell characteristics (e.g., size, shape, structure, and arrangement) and can provide valuable information about the health of the pet, even when the cell count is normal.
The process for supplementing your CBC results varies, depending on your haematology analyser:
- If you’re using a ProCyte One or ProCyte Dx haematology analyser: For full, automatic integration, initiate a run on the IDEXX VetLab Station that includes both the IDEXX inVue Dx analyser and the ProCyte One or ProCyte Dx analyser. The IDEXX inVue Dx analyser will automatically leverage the RBC, WBC and hematocrit counts provided in the CBC, and the blood morphology results will be automatically integrated with the CBC results.
- If you’re using a different haematology analyser: In order for the IDEXX inVue Dx analyser to leverage the CBC results, the RBC, WBC and hematocrit counts will need to be manually added when the IDEXX inVue Dx analyser run is initiated. Blood morphology results will be reported separately from the haematology results.
