Routine Monitoring for Enterococci in Drinking Water - Why is it Necessary?
Wednesday, 25 September
14.00-15.00 BST
The importance of intestinal enterococci as a faecal indicator in drinking water has recently been recognised by the European Union and this category of organisms has now been designated as a 'Core Group A parameter'. The webinar will explore the reasons why there has been an increased focus on detection of intestinal enterococci in drinking water.
Dr Brett Brewin will set the scene and give guidance on the new regulations and Professor Colin Fricker will explore the challenge of detecting faecal contamination in complex water networks, especially in situations where E. coli may not be a problem.
